I used to love to fish, started taking pictures of the fish. Developed a knack for the photos and posting them on a fishing website. Eventually taking pictures became the new love. I keep one or two cameras with me almost all the time.
I made 4 different collages out of this creek shot
Hawk on the wing, I normally see several hawks a day, they "seek" me
Icy Waterstone Pond, I love the reflection of the early morning sun off the ice & water

Light on fall leaves Miami & Euclid
I'm really enjoying reflections in the water
Creek chubs, their shadows make them more visible from above, otherwise they would be hard to see
Tall grass I'm fascinated with, it's in a road I use all the time, so I get to try different shots under different light
Waterfall at Krohn
I like this angle and patterns
Interesting pattern on leaf, they must unfold or something to make that imprint
Flower in the Krohn Conservatory, not sure what I like about this, might grow to dis like it later, just a "busy" sort of shot, interesting eye movement
Sunlight filtering thru fall leaves
Woodpecker, I like birds
This hawk sat there & let me take several shots from several angles...I was shooting out the car window on the bridge over Kemper Ln on Park entering Eden Park
This hawk flew right over me & landed, along with a sparrow which is out of view on the right on the pole
Ohio River from Eden Park, nice fog clearing off

Great sparrow shot in a red tree
1-2-08_6950_BRIGHT CENTER RESIZED 2000
This is one of a series, It's made from the image "A tree with Appeal" I liked it so well, I had to make several images of it. I liken the branches reaching for each other similar to the painting where God & man are touching fingers. Something very mystical & spiritual with this particular tree. I drove by it the recently (4-10-08?) and almost had to stop, it just jumps out to me. Hope it has an effect for you too.
1-2-08_6950 TREE- CONJOINED TRUNKS-resized 2000
Here's a version (one of four) with the trunks conjoined, I love the way the branches reach for each other. I had to resize the images to 2000 pixals wide as the project is almost 9000 pixals wide and nearly 6000 high. They wouldn't upload until I made them much smaller. I'm having the first series printed 2' by about 3' wide, then I'll go to 3' by over 4'
1-2-08_6659-TREE-resized 2000 wide
This is one of a series of 4
Conjoined trunks REVERSED
Another version, with the trunks joined & the branches blowing out
Conjoined trunks, reversed, cropped, rotated & resized...I will print it up great as a 12' x 18"
This is a piece of the above picture, cropped & rotated. Sort of resembles an alien crab spaceship or something !!
A tree with appeal, this is the image that started the series
Heavy snowfall and a delivery that took me thru eden park, the deer were out, this one was particularly "cute"
On my way back from west chester, there's a wonderful small Coopers Hawk in a tree right off the ramp to Western Row
Such a beautiful bird
I've got it's attention & he's ready to go
Got it right on the jump and a few more with my continuous shutter
Closer up of the above shot
Hawk just after take off...next picture is the same, cropped so it's a close up
Another great shot, not the best focus, but it's a flying hawk !!
Hawk on the wing, tough shot, but I get them
church dome in Covington, made a delivery next door, looked up & had to shoot these, lighting was great, took several great shots this day
Church spires in Covington,KY off Russel street
This swan was up in west chester, I was driving by & saw it out the corner of my eye. I thought it was a statue on this pond...sort of like a pink flamingo. I made a mental note & on the way back I looked & sure enough they (2) were real. When I got close to the bank of the frozen pond, they both walked up to see me.
I love the footprints in the snow, my what big feet you have !
a little preening
I guess this swan liked me, walked right up to me and posed real nice.
This is my original image after I cropped it to a square to use for the waterfall project
2-14-08_Tree 1788_edited Square
Same as the next one, only pre-rotated, it works well both ways
Another project from a tree, I liked the shape & the snow on the branch & the blue sky
2-14-08_Tree 1788_edited-24 Square-rotated
I made this into a square to print 24" Square prints, drymounted on foamcore & laminated...1/2" white boarder exposed
This is the start of the Tree 1788 project
11-10-07 Project horizontal
I prefer this in the vertical position, however, this blog will distort any image higher than square, so turn your head sideways to view !! It's 8 pictures of the river put together.
11-10-07 Project04 for 12 x 18 print
This is a version cropped for 12" X 18" Print. I print these & display them around town
11-10-07-Project B...Square Crop
This is from the shot of the Little Miami River
11-10-07 Little Miami River in Newtown- used for the above project..so creative, eh ?
creek project 2-Adobe_edited-Saturated-Print_edited-1.jpg
This is from a creek in Mason turned & flipped, conjoined, etc, etc. Yes, color saturated & higher contrast too. A Masterpiece. I had it printed & laminated to draw out the color. Finished size is about 3' x 4'
This is the picture the Creek Project originated from
Evendale creek project1-EDITED
This was made from a picture of a creek I took 1-19-08
Evendale Creek Square Crop
Same project...cropped square
Evendale Creek Project....closer crop
I made this crop to give a better idea of the full size, really cool images appear in the seams
This is the creek in Evendale, I held the camera vertical, so this is how I 1st viewed it on the computer. It would be the correct view turned up 90 degrees counter clockwise. It's shot in the 10.2 megapial size, so when i look at it full size the color in the water (reflected trees) appear similar to the old impressionist paintings. I have many more to work from.
10-6-07_fountain at NT Unity Garden
Ice on pond in Eden Park, I like how I lined up the tree with the bridge, these things aren't just accidental you know ;-)
These leaves just dropped like rain in front of me on the new snow as I left my dentist's office
